NATURA MORTA is a project by the theatre director Mladen Alexiev consisted by two parallel events – an exhibition and a performance, in which the author expands his interest in narratives and hybrid presentation formats. NATURA MORTA is the third piece in the frame of the long-term research project Splendor Solis.
The project is based on the personal account and archive of Christina Apostolova who in the last seven years lives in the Netherlands. Part of her archive will be displayed at Swimming Pool.
A day after the opening, on the stage of DNK – space of contemporary dance and performance, she will recount her reasons for creating the archive as well as her interest towards endangered species. An audio recording of the presentation will be subsequently included in the exhibition and available to visitors.
On the last day of the exhibition, Dec 1st (Saturday), there will be an open discussion with the authors on the long-term project Spendor Solis as well as about their interest in mockumentary theatre.
