Solo performance by Lukas Blaha

23 & 24 August 2023, 20:00

Free entry, but limited capacity.
We recommend you to reserve with email to jenny@swimmingpoolprojects.org

With the support of "One-Year Grant" Program of the National Culture Fund of Bulgaria.

The performance is realised with the financial support of The Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

Lavabo is a movement performance with elements of new circus.

The performance is an exploration of physical and mental cleansing, a transitional experience of our own bodies and those moments when we find ourselves alone with ourselves.

Where does the human body end and the mind begin?

The face is the one part of the body we never see on ourselves. What we can see of it is always a reproduction or an image of it.

About the organization Špatné divadlo:
Špatné divadlo is a group formed around Jana Stárková, Ondřej Menoušek and Jakub Vaverka, who started working together during their studies. The association aims to function as a platform bringing together renowned artists and emerging young talents, giving them the opportunity to develop and enrich each other and the wider cultural audience. Špatné divadlo focuses on the creation of movement, dance, alternative, and especially new-circus productions that represent a more intimate alternative to the “mainstream” work of these genres. Compared to mainstream work, new-circus productions of Špatné divadlo have a more intimate atmosphere, focus on more serious or involved themes (spiritual cleansing, city life, etc.) and move away from pomposity and cabaret. The company puts special emphasis on the creation of site-specific projects in public spaces and non-traditional spaces, thus contributing to the cultural renewal of artistically vacant places.
