RESIDENCY AND PROJECT
PIET ZWART INSTITUTE MASTER FINE ART CLASS OF 2019
From 17 to 21 September, Swimming Pool will host the Piet Zwart Institute Master Fine Art Class of 2019 from Rotterdam. The class, accompanied by writer Jan Verwoert, will set up a walk-in sonic workspace at the gallery where to depart from to meet people and see things, and in which to welcome anyone who wants to say hello and voice their views on art, life and politics and leave their sound or beat on tape.
RESIDENCY AND EXCHANGE IN COLLABORATION WITH KUNSTHOCHSCHULE MAINZ AND NATIONAL ART ACADEMY, SOFIA
In Spring 2018, RELAY invited art students to participate in a material exchange and respond to images and objects in a relay of pooled matter sent by mail between Germany and Bulgaria. No directions or conditions or knowledge were presupposed.
WRITING RESIDENCY AND COLLABORATION
PURE FICTION CLASS STÄDELSCHULE
In 2011, students of Städelschule invited writer Mark von Schlegell to organise a fiction seminar in the school. Since then, the class, Pure Fiction, has brought together current and former Städel students to examine and above all produce texts in the most diverse forms possible, from written artistic works and experimental writing to readings, plays, and performances that inevitably draw in other aspects of the diverse artistic practices of all the seminar members.
