Opening: 13 November, 17:00 – 20:00
18:00 – 19:00
A performative presentation of Boyan Manchev’s philosophical poem “The Virtuoso of Life”, with the participation of Leonid Yovchev and Boyan Manchev.
“The Virtuoso of Life” is a poem about the limit – about Terra ultima. It introduces the images of the North – the stone and the dunes, the starlings and the stars, the colours of the Northern Lights – as the images of the limit of the world, but also of a limit world. Virtuoso’s question is the question of the limit as a form of existence: an existence that exceeds its boundary. The limit as radical autonomy and as the limit of autonomy. Within this limit the Subject meets the unimaginable other, experiences it, sinks into its erogenous relief. Within this limit, the elements themselves insurge as subjects-virtuosos.
Free entrance, admission with a green certificate.
No sign-ups in advance.
Finissage: 20 November, 18:00 – 21:00
19:00 – 20:00

A performative reading of “Dark Poem” by Boyan Manchev and Metheor, with the participation of Leonid Yovchev and Boyan Manchev. The presentation includes video material directed by Ani Vaseva and filmed by Ivan Nikolov opnn. The performance is also related to the Theatres’ Night.
“Dark Poem” is a theatrical-philosophical poem by Boyan Manchev inspired by the Japanese choreographer Tatsumi Hijikata and his vision of the rebellion of the body as frontline of the political and aesthetic revolution. Hijikata's North – the fantasmatic Tohoku, his native land in the extreme North of Japan – is another form of the Terra Ultima: of a world at the limit, out of its joints.
“Revolution is a requirement to live backwards, to resist.”
“Dark Poem” has been realised by Metheor with the support of EU-Japan Fest Japan Committee and Plovdiv 2019.
Free entrance, admission with a green certificate.
No sign-ups in advance.
